My love of all things clay began in the USA, a long time ago.  My husband Jim & I met a potter selling his beautifully wheel thrown wares on the sidewalk in Manhattan Kansas. I was hooked & spent most days at his workshop learning how to throw pots! I love playing in mud! Life was much simpler.

At home in Young (Australia) upon returning from overseas we operated a nursery along with my Ceramics Studio. During time when living in Young I taught ceramics at TAFE for a short time. There were many workshops with prominent potters that I attended. Wheel thrown ceramics was prevalent, there wasn’t any mid fire pottery nor easy access to ready made glazes online. A whole different era.

Unfortunately there was a long break after selling our first house & moving several times which meant I didn’t have access to a kiln. Children & grandchildren took priority over many years.

During this time I travelled to Cowra TAFE weekly to attend classes with Catherine Bennett, partner of Greg Daley both of whom are renowned Ceramicists. These classes were very enjoyable, so much fun being together with other pot heads. Cowra TAFE was very well equipped with all things ceramic but then they were sadly for us, closed down & disbanded.
From then until now I hadn’t been creating ceramics but I haven’t lost my love for it.

Now living at the coast has rekindled my interest & creativity. I combine hand building with wheel thrown pieces.
Hope you like my work.
