I have been making clothes from recycled fabrics for 23 years. It incorporates two passions, one is collecting beautiful quality vintage fabrics. The other is, creatively sewing them together to make garments that make people smile when wearing them.
The principal thing that I make is clothes using all recycled finds … from curtains, funky
vintage fabrics, sheets, tea towels, suit coats, bedspreads and woollen
blankets, basically anything that catches my eye in op shops.
I’m conscious of not being part of the consumer machine, and try minimise all our waste in everything we do. In the sewing room, I use smaller pieces of fabric left over from garments to make, earrings, hats and hair ties and patchwork. Everything I make is a one off item.
Here are some examples of work that is in the Nest. Please note stock does turn over, so if you like something do contact me.
